Dean didn't exactly have the fairy tale childhood growing up. His father often was on 'business trips' that generally took him across the country to hunt down this demon, or that monster, saving lives and making next to no money from it. He got along well with his mother, though, and enjoyed growing up under her watchful eye. Dean was constantly trying to please both his mother and father; helping his mom around the house, and learning about demons from his dad. It shook Dean to the core when his mother was killed in the house fire which he later found out was caused by a demon. The rest of his childhood was spent raising Sam and moving around the country with his dad while he hunted the demon down that killed his mother.

There are two rules when it comes to Dean. Don't fuck with him. And don't fuck with his family.
He is not someone you want to get on the bad side of. He's loud. Obnoxious. In-you-face demanding, and he doesn't take shit from anyone. Dean can come off as a prick to most people, but he's very loyal and cares a lot about people; mostly his family, and hunter's close to his Dad. He's really blunt and to the point, he doesn't like having to tip toe around shit before he says it, so he normally just flat out tells the person how it is and how it will be, without much regard for their feelings.
Unless he's conning them.
He has little to no idea on how to be subtle. He enjoys having fun, and when he's not on a hunt Dean's normally down in their motel room filling his addiction to vibrating beds or at a bar flirting with girls, playing pool or darts, and otherwise jacking off. Which, in turn, totally pisses Sam off (as Sam's terribly responsible). Despite that, he takes his job very seriously. Both hunting and protecting his brother.
Dean's not really into the 'share and care' bit of life. He keeps his emotions wrapped up right and tries to be a hardass on Sam when he gets emotional. Despite that he does take most of his emotional pain out through anger and frustration. He's even beat up the Impala on the account of being upset and frustrated to the point of lashing out.
I'M FEELING RIGHT
So when we were kids, we were told all those ghost stories. Like the evil under the bed and things hiding in our closets, or bloody Mary coming out of the mirrors. You
know, the usual. What we weren't told? Is that they're real.At least for the people on Supernatural they are.
Dean is one of the main characters in Supernatural. A show about two brothers traveling across the US hunting and killing all things evil, while on the side worrying about Dean's 'one year left to live' problem.
But let's backtrack a bit, shall we?
When Dean four years old (Sam was six months), their mother was killed by 'The Demon'. Her stomach was cut open, she was plastered to the ceiling, and flames engulfed her. Sam, Dean, and their father John survived. They stayed with their neighbors while their house was investigated for the fire cause; one that would never be found. After the fire, Dean stopped talking for months. He saw what had happened and was emotionally scarred. He lost his mother and almost lost his little brother Sam.
As Dean grew up their father devoted his entire life to finding what killed their mother. The more he investigated, the more he learned about the supernatural and darkness in the world. Because of this, he raised both Dean and Sam to hunt the evil as well. Dean was always very respectful and idolized his father for what he was, which in turn made Dean grow into a fantastic hunter. He loved the job. So much, in fact, that he never even bothered really going back to school. Dean figured all he needed to know, he could find out from his old man. Dean's life was hunting, helping his dad, and protecting his brother. Other than that, there was nothing else. A one night stand randomly, maybe. But never real relationships; he can't keep them to save his life.
All good things come to an end, though. And so did the Winchester family. When both boys grew up, Dean stayed with John while Sam decided to run off to University because he wanted to do anything other than be a hunter. So Dean was abandoned and left with his Dad; not that he minded that much. He was able to be a hunter, and that was what he did best. But in 2005, everything went wrong. John went missing, and Dean went to Sam's university to find him.
Nothing went as planned.
Sam refused to go with him. Refused to help. Only to later change his mind when Sam's girlfriend Jessica suffered from the same fate as their mother. But, because of that, it made Sam want to help Dean. Which is when their cross-country road trip in Sean's '67 Impala started. While searching for their father (who was tracking The Demon), they wasted as many supernatural things as they possible could on the way.
Eventually, though, they found John, as well as 'The Colt'. The Colt is a gun made by a demon hunter named Samuel Colt; the bullets could kill anything. Including The Demon. The Winchester boys kept it in hopes of being able to use it on the Demon to be rid of it once and for all.
Although for Dean, it wasn't that easy. Seeing their Dad again put a lot of stress into his life, and caused quite a few close calls on everyone's lives.
They made their way through it all, though, and still had a hold on the Colt. Unfortunately, something else came and tore them apart. A car accident.
