All that Dr. Horrible really wants is WORLD DOMINATION.

Okay sure, it sounds like something every supervillain would want, but he has good reasons. Deep down he really truly believes that the world would be better if he was in charge, as obviously, it’s not doing too well now. What with bullies and idiots constantly in power and messing things up for everyone else. His entire life Billy has been little more than a victim, but now it’s time for him to step up and show the world who the strong one really was.

Well… in baby steps. Dr. Horrible’s first goal was to get accepted into the Evil League of Evil, lead by the nefarious Bad Horse, Thoroughbred of Sin himself. Bad Horse was only Dr. Horrible’s idol, so it hurt when he kept getting rejected. Finally it got to the point where his only chance of getting into the League was to commit murder. Dr. Horrible wasn’t sure he could do that.

Hell, he couldn’t even talk to the girl he was in love with, even though he saw her twice a week at the Laundromat. Billy fantasized about Penny, talked about her in his blog, but never said hello. That was until she approached him on the street to sign a petition for a new soup kitchen and homeless shelter. Unfortunately, he was in the middle of a crucial heist to steal the Wonderflonium he needed for his Freeze Ray, so he couldn’t… really… pay attention.

Everything went wrong when Captain Hammer showed up to RUIN THE ENTIRE THING by crushing the receiver that allowed Dr. Horrible to control the transport van which sent it careening into the alley and almost running over PENNY, until he stopped it with the remote just in time. Not… that it looked that way. Penny thanked that giant tool for rescuing her and they started to date. Just perfect.

This was sort of the last straw that pushed Dr. Horrible into becoming a true villain. He knew who he’d kill. His arch-nemesis CAPTAIN HAMMER. He even built a Death Ray for the occasion, but when it became time to pull the trigger, he hesitated. The Freeze Ray malfunctioned (again ;_;) and he ended up punched in the face, laying on his back with Captain Hammer’s boot on his chest. He tried to stop Captain Hammer from pulling the trigger on the death ray, but of course, Hammer was a douchebag and did it anyway. The Ray misfired sending Captain Hammer and sharp pieces of shrapnel firing everywhere.

At first, it looked like this was a great ending after all. Captain Hammer was crying like a baby and people were finally noticing him, cowering in fear of Dr. Horrible. But it all went wrong. Because of Captain Hammer’s stupidity, Penny was a casualty of the Death Ray explosion. Billy almost had a breakdown right there…

However… her death and the defeat of Captain Hammer meant that he was officially accepted into the Evil League of Evil. Finally. He was a master villain, he made headlines, the world was terrified of him. It was everything he ever wanted.

…wasn’t it?
