CHARACTERNAME: Elizabeth Bennet
FANDOM: PRide & Prejudice
TIMELINE PERIOD: During her stay at Pemberley just prior to her sister Lydia's elopement.
BACKGROUND: Born into a family on the lower side of upper class at the Longbourn Estate in Hertfordshire, Elizabeth was the second of five daughters. The least favorite of her mother, but the favorite by far in the eyes of her father, Lizzie grew to have a sarcastic, quick-witted, dry disposition. She has a quick temper and is fast to judge someone. Prejudiced and proud on her own, she seems by far the most intellectually driven of her sisters, although she does enjoy the various social events, such as balls, properly suited to her time.
She's proven herself to be choosy when it comes to whom she shows affection, having turned down not only her cousin Mr. Collins, set to own the Longbourn Estate after her father Mr. Bennet passes, but also Mr. Darcy after his first proposal. Nevertheless, she is a devoted and loving friend, especially to her oldest sister Jane. Confident, opinionated, judgemental, stubborn, and assertive, she refuses to be easily intimidated by those socially considered more important than her.
In relation to Mr. Darcy, Eliabeth proves to hold the most disdain for him after he openly snubs her at their first meeting. From there, what she believes was the truth of his treatment over his childhood friend Mr. Wickham only furthers this opinion. When he then removes his best friend Bingley from what he thought to be an unfavorable marriage with Elizabeth's sister Jane, she's, alongside his arrogance, pride, as well as his open disapproval for her family's propriety, set upon the idea then that he is surely the last man she could ever see herself happily marrying.
It's then that he asks to marry her, and is very quickly turned down. Only after their passionate disagreement over this matter, does he bother to explain the accusations, causing Lizzie to re-evaluate her opinion of him.
