Fon Master Ion - Rivelata
Before the original Fon Master Ion died, he gave the God Generals under him permission to replicate him using fomicry—the forbidden art discovered years ago by Colonel Jade Curtiss, nee Balfour, also known as Jade the Necromancer. Seven replicas were made. Of those seven, four were useless shadows of the original; four, faulty as they were, were brought to the fires of Mount Zaleho and never returned. The fifth replica was rescued at the last moment by Commandant Van, leader of the God Generals, for though his powers were no more than a pale reflection of the original's, he was strong enough to appear useful. The third replica was presumed lost, but in reality was kept in reserve by Grand Maestro Mohs of the Order of Lorelei, second in power only to the Fon Master himself.

The seventh replica wasn't like the others. The seventh replica was the best, and it was he who was chosen to take the original Ion's place. But while the seventh replica had the original's abilities, he did not have his strength. The enormous strain that reading the Score placed upon his replica body would eventually kill this new Ion; thus, the third replica was kept as backup. In the meantime, no one else in Auldrant ever learned of the original Fon Master's death—including those closest to him, even the Fon Master Guardian Arietta.

In order for those at the head of the Order of Lorelei to keep up the illusion of continuity—in order to avoid the devastating repercussions of the world discovering that those sworn to uphold the Score had dabbled in the forbidden arts—the Fon Master Guardians had to be replaced. Arietta's position was severed and given to another, named Anise; the former never learned before she died that the beloved Fon Master whom she had sworn to protect with her life no longer lived, himself.

The seventh Ion endeavored to be in every way exactly like the original, despite his physical shortcomings. Though only technically two years old, the new Fon Master Ion was well read, studious, brave, gentle, kind and polite. Yet he was dedicated to preventing war between Kimlasca and Malkuth, a war that had been brewing for a long time. Ion went so far as to take matters into his own hands, traveling between countries and his own home province of neutral Daath to negotiate peace. While traveling with Jade, on a mission of peace for Peony the Ninth, emperor of Malkuth, Ion's paths crossed with Luke fon Fabre's, a chance meeting that would utterly alter the course of his life. Caught up in Luke's adventure, Ion joins the group—Luke fon Fabre, Tear Grants, Guy Cecil, Jade Curtiss, Anise Tatlin, and Natalia Luzu-Kimlasca Lanvaldear—and travels with them as he can, adding his knowledge, and occasionally his readings of the score, not to mention his mystic arte, no matter the strain it places on on his body. Despite Luke's initial unkindness and impatience, Ion is convinced that this "scion of Lorelei" is good. In the end, Ion would sacrifice everything for him, and the others, the friends he has come to love along the way.
