Giselle
I hope you had wonderful dreams.

Giselle lived in a quaint cottage in the forest in Andalasia, a kingdom that lies "pat the Meadow of Joy and beyond the Valley of Contentment." She spent her free time with her animal friends, all of which had the ability to talk, and singing songs. One day, after dreaming of her true love, her animal friends help her build a replica of her dream prince, to the tune of a sweet, romantic song.

Hearing her singing, Prince Edward is sure he's found his one true love, but a troll beats him to Giselle's cottage. She is rescued, however, thanks in no small part to Pip's robust figure, and falls from the tree she'd been clinging to for dear life and into the arms of Prince Edward. After a brief introduction, they announce plans to be wed and ride of into the sunset.

The very next day, Giselle arrives at the castle in her wedding gown (which her friends hurry to finish, placing the bow around her waist and the crown on her head.) Just as she's about to enter the castle, she's approached by an old hag and is offered a wedding gift in the form of a wish. Giselle is reluctantly led to the wishing well, and as she's making her wish, she's pushed over and plunges down, down, down....

RIVELATA
Upon first arriving in Rivelata, Giselle ran into Oriya and Jennifer. Despite Oriya's relatively nasty attitude, Giselle became somewhat fond of him. Jennifer, however, quickly became one of her closest friends, and was the one to direct her to Edward after her arrival.

When she was reunited with Edwardshe met Kuja and Kaoru, and began jumping to conclusions when it came to the both of them. Kuja, she thought, was a beautiful woman, and Kaoru her prince. Kuja played along with her and fed into her beliefs, often embarrassing Kaoru in the process. However, Giselle later found out that Kuja had lied to her, and she was momentarilyovercome with grief. She'd never been lied to before, but she eventually overcame the situation and, while doing so, came to understand that love came in many forms that did not exist in her home world of Andalasia-- but it was beautiful all the same.

As the days progressed, more and more Giselle began to neglect her journal. It wasn't because of her lack of interest in the occupants of Rivelata, but instead due in part to being unfamiliar with the journals as a whole, and the fact that, eventually, they began leaking blood. Because of this, she remained largely unaware of the majority of the darker things that took place in her new home land. Her brushes with danger have, thus far, been few and far between. She even managed to avoid the butterfly-shaped explosions that took place on the night of the Rebellion's Ball and destroyed much of the local area, though she was troubled by the thought that someone would do such a thing.

Despite the few "terrible" things she witnessed and the all around lack of optimism, Giselle remained generally happy. It wasn't until a chance meeting with Batman that the frustration and confusion she'd been keeping locked up came bubbling out in the form of anger. Though he'd helped uncover her more unpleasant emotions, he is still dear to her.
