HISTORY: Unlike what you'd expect, Ranulf is far from what we'd call human. He is a laguz - part man, part beast, for him, being the form of a blue cat, about the size of a human, if not larger (since he's affected in Rivelata, the size of the cat is greatly diminished to a small blue kitten when he transforms). Given he's a cat, he has advanced smell that he's learnt to perfect to identify things, keen eyesight so he can see in the dark, and a good sense of hearing. Outwardly, he shows signs of being a laguz - he has blue cat ears, and a blue cat tail. Unrelated, but his eyes are also two different colours - one blue, and one green.

Despite laguz not getting on with the outsiders of the continent aside the other laguz races (that being, the Hawks, Ravens, and Dragons to the south, and the Herons to the north), Gallia formed an alliance with the country of Crimea, primarily made up of 'beorc', in our terms, humans (in his world, 'human' is concidered something to an 'ist' term used by laguz, as the word 'sub-human' is used towards the laguz by the beorc). Ranulf accepted this partnership without much of a hitch. Part of the army of the country, Ranulf has his own unit. When war struck the continent of Tellius, Ranulf was sent to the aide of the Princess of Crimea and her army commander, Ike. He assisted them as they crossed into Gallia, and a few months later, joined with them again as they conquered the castle in Daein, the country that had fired up the war. They marched into Crimea, and were resting up for the morn of the final battle against the one responsible for the war, Ashnard. Or, Ranulf was, until he awoke to find himself on a ship.

PERSONALITY, STRENGTHS, AND WEAKNESSES: Ranulf is good tempered and mostly cheerful and positive, and has a dry humour about him. He's bound to get on with most anyone and be the light hearted one in a group, as proved when he was in Ike's army. Even then, he knows when enough is enough and when justice must be served with his claws. Despite the looks he gets for his cat-genes, it doesn't bother him. He's used to it, as beorc and laguz haven't gotten on with one another for centuries. Despite that, he always has the utmost respect, and never refers to beorc as 'humans'. From this, he'll refer to anyone who is not laguz as 'beorc' in Rivelata - mostly everyone.

I'd give a note on Ranulf's canon and his 'shapeshifting' abilities. In Fire Emblem, his race have 'evolved' as such so they're part-man, part-beast. Since it's a part of who he is, it can't be dropped out of him, and then again, it's never stated when the power stems from apart from a 'transformation gauge'. For purposes of the RP, I'll change the size of this big, blue cat (about the size of a human or bigger), to a small-ish blue kitten, which will be nowhere near as powerful.
