Squall "Leon" Leonhart

Squall grew up in Radiant Garden with Aerith, Yuffie, and Cloud. He was very much a loner when he was in his adolescent years and reaching his adulthood he became to open up to his friends. Squall would assume the leader position for their group, especially after their world was destroyed by the Heartless. He looked after Aerith and Yuffie when they arrived at Traverse Town. It is then that Squall assumes the name ‘Leon’ because he was unable to protect the people he cared about when the heartless invaded their home.

They are later given the task to help the keyblade bearer when he comes to Traverse Town. At first Leon couldn’t believe that Sora was the keyblade master, but after a battle in testing Sora’s skills, he accepted it. He then acts as a guide to Sora and offering any help that he can for the young brunette in battling heartless and trying to find his friends.

It’s after Sora locks Hollow Bastion that Leon, Aerith, Yuffie and Cid returned to their home and help to rebuild it. It is a year later that they are reunited with Sora, Donald and Goofy again. And Leon relies on him to help him from time to time with some tasks as well as resuming his role as a guide for Sora whenever necessary.

Squall has a trademark scar in between his eyes, on the bridge of his nose. It’s unknown as to where he got his scar. He also wears a silver necklace that is in the shape of a lion’s head—he calls the lion ‘Griever’. Squall also wields a gunblade, a cross between a sword and a revolver.

Leon’s short term plans seem to fall under protect Hollow Bastion and restoring it to the way it was before the heartless attacked. Slowly but surely, Squall has been able redeem himself in his eyes from the way he was when the heartless first entered their lives.

Leon came to Rivelata, and was soon reunited with Cloud and Aerith. They lived together for a short while until after the ball when Aerith disappeared and another Aerith showed up that didn't know Cloud or Leon. While Cloud was away in the jungle trying to rescue captives from the ball, Leon agreed to escort Aerith into the jungle to meet her boyfriend, Zack.

Cloud soon returned from the jungle and a bit of strain is put on their friendship as they figure out to get out of Rivelata and figure out what happened to their Aerith.
