HISTORY:
Zexion was born Ienzo on the world of Radiant Garden. Originally an idealistic and gifted young man, he lost his heart at the age of eighteen to darkness after he participated in a series of experiments on the substance which slowly corrupted him into a twisted and amoral being – a man willing to kidnap innocents and conduct horrific experiments on them to further his ends. Afterwards, he became Zexion, a Nobody and number six in the Organization. He carried a considerable amount of power in the Organization, even more than his immediate superiors, Lexaeus and Vexen. Clever though prone to slightly overcomplicated schemes, Zexion attempted to find ways to stop Marluxia and Larxene from succeeding in their goals, but ultimately failed due to Namine's intervention. In the end, he was killed by Axel and the Riku Replica...

Or was he? He was nearly dead from his battle with Riku, unable to resist as the Replica closed a hand around his throat and began to drain his power... except at that moment, some part of reality twisted.

The next thing Zexion knew, he awakened on a ship, with no idea how he had arrived there. That aching hole in his chest was still there, but most of his Gift – his power over Illusion – had left him. As grateful as one with no emotions can be for being alive, he chose to explore...

Once in Rivelata, he discovered to his distaste that Axel and the Replica were there as well, though apparently from his own future (one in which he was, to his dismay, quite deceased). Further, Sora was there, alebit a much younger Sora, as was an older and wiser Riku, among others. Wishing to learn more about Rivelata, he chose to attend the ball. Luckily for him, he left before the shooting started.

After thus witnessing the extent of the Queen's depravity, Zexion became one of the many who sided against her, though he had little wish to return home (as he suspected he would be returned to his moment of death - not a pleasant prospect. ) Furthermore, as one devoted to truth in all its forms, no matter how painful, he desired greately to solve the mystery of Rivelata - how people had come to be there, why their powers were dampened, and how to leave.

Zexion therefore voulenteered for one of the two rescue missions, the one lead by one Bruce Wayne (here calling himself Clark Kent). During the preperations, he made friends with Larsa Solidor. There they discovered the red crystal, among other things...

Upon returning home, Zexion was adversely affected by the blood in the journal, called by it but resistant to it at the same time. Larxene had to intervene to snap him out of his madness.

PERSONALITY, STRENGTHS, AND WEAKNESSES: Zexion is incredibly intelligent and extremely verbose – he has no tolerance for stupidity whatsoever. Though well capable of directing others, he prefers not to be in a position of visibility, and instead stays in the shadows – remaining the power behind the throne, as it were.

Though a scientist, Zexion considers the highest art to be words and communication, and believes fully in the power of words to shape reality – not simply in a literal sense as he once could with his powers, but in a metaphorical sense as well. As it has been said, "Five words can stop a thousand swords."

Tied in with this, Zexion abhors violence, not because he is a pacifist, but because he feels that it is entirely beneath him. If the same result can be attained with a few honeyed words and the proper leverage and negotiation, why bother to assert oneself? (it is true, in fact, that he once nearly killed Riku without actually fighting him – simply through the power of words)

Oddly, Zexion is no liar – he will sometimes bend truths or put them in a light to his advantage, but he will, in the end, use truth if possible to attain his ends – it's simply a matter of how one uses those truths against others. Truth is an uncomfortable, barbed, and spiny thing, and can often be far more effective in coercion than any lie. (again, as an example: the only lie Zexion told to Riku was when he pretended to be Sora at the very end. Everything else Zexion said – about Riku's friends, about the darkness –was absolute truth... and far more deadly than any lie he could have told.) Truth is, like words, a pure and high aspiration... and also an incredible weapon. As such, he seeks them as a flower seeks light... or as a hawk hunts rabbits.

There was a time when Zexion believed, above all else, in the unity of his Organization. There were members he disagreed with, but as a whole he acted as a peacekeeper. When the members in Castle Oblivion began to betray the Organization, he lamented the loss of their previous unity and tried his best to keep them together – to no avail. In the end, he was betrayed by one that he trusted: Axel.

As such, Zexion now harbors an intense distrust of everyone - he simply cannot bring himself to trust, not after such a vicious betrayal on all sides.

Zexion views this world as a second chance, as a puzzle, as an opportunity... and also as something incredibly sad. On the one hand, he has an opportunity to experiment, to discover, and to explore as he has not been able to since those first days of losing his heart and gaining his powers. On the other hand, there is no song in his soul for this, there is no poetry and he cannot truly enjoy any of it, as he has no heart and thus cannot feel anything about his explorations. Still, he is driven, if only by the possibility that if he seeks hard enough, he may find some way to regain his humanity.

Of course, what the consequences of that will be remain to be seen...

Powers - Originally, Zexion had incredible power over illusion, the ability to "smell" people's auras (more like an odd sixth sense, though in his case he most often interpreted it as smell), and as all Greater Nobodies, a bonded weapon – in his case a huge tome called the Lexicon, containing infinite pages and allowing him to use his illusion powers.

His Lexicon has remained with him, though it now has a true physical presence and cannot be "unsummoned". His illusion powers have begun to slowly return - at present, he can change his physical appearance completely to match any humanoid, turn invisible, and create basic visual and auditory illusions. He cannot, however, create illusions of physical presence (so for instance, he could create an illusion of a singing bird, but you wouldn't feel anything if the bird landed on you). His ability to duplicate other people's powers (like Riku's) has not yet returned either, but he maintains his ability to analyze the powers of others quite effectively.

He retains his ability to sense people, though it is far less precise than before. He can generally sense when people are present or absent within fifty feet of him, and if they are within ten feet he can tell basic aspects of their personality and demeanor, mostly through impressions of smell. As an example, Axel smells of smoke and sulfur; Larxene smells distinctly of an oncoming rainstorm and ozone with an overtone of blood; Marluxia smells both of cloyingly sweet flowers and also acid. He can also tell, to a degree, how much "darkness" a person carries with them this way, though now he must concentrate on the person to tell.
